In the spring of 2000, DRY-X founder George Fox was tired of putting on cold, wet gear day after day. Not satisfied with what was available in ski shops and online, George decided to create a company with quality, longevity, and green practices in mind.

He paired his extensive knowledge of boots, gloves, and equipment with how-things-work to create his first patented boot and glove dryer. Now, 20 years later, DRY-X dryers are the go-to choice of ski resorts, professional sports teams, search and rescue outfits, offshore oil rigs and beyond.

DRY-X is the only company who designs each dryer with the application in mind. We believe in designing dryers for your use, because...one design simply does not fit all. Keep reading for our process, our philosophy and our clients.

Our Process

CONSTRUCTION & QUALITY

"Warm air" and heated dryers destroy gear, period. The structural integrity of your equipment, boots, gloves, and helmets are compromised when exposed to heated air. Constant heat shortens the life of every protective component of your gear. Our boot dryer systems are designed and hand crafted with a no-heat philosophy. Our dryers are fast, efficient, and are made from only the highest quality materials available. DRY-X dryers blow more air than competitors while being the quietest system on the market.

Because of our no-heat philosophy and energy efficient design, you can leave our dryers on as long as you want without concern. In fact, one of our clients leave their dryer systems on from October - May, yearly.

TESTING

DRY-X designs have gone through rigorous testing. We test our products every day, to ensure that our clients, get the best and longest lasting boot dryers anywhere. Here at DRY-X, our boot dryers are tested by world-class athletes in the toughest of conditions. By pushing our gear to the extreme, day in and day out, we are able to test the durability of our boot and glove dryers. This is why DRY-X boot dryers are trusted by the world's most demanding industries and athletes.

We offer dryers with extendable hoses, rigid hoses, steel piping, copper piping, and even colored hoses, because whatever you can dream up, we can make. The configurations are endless with DRY-X boot, equipment and glove dryers. For our international clients, we design and build your dryers to the power specifications of your country.

Why A No-Heat Philosophy?

Do not place ski boots on or near any sources of heat.
— Tecnica Boots

For all their strengths, these plastics can degrade when exposed to heat.. NEVER place the (boot) shells directly on or too near a heat source that can melt, alter the shape or cause the plastic to become brittle and crumble.

All Nordica Racing, On Piste and top-of-the-line All Mountain and Sport Performance boots have cork liners that are custom molded to your feet. Heating them can ruin that custom fit.
— Nordica Boots

Heat can compromise the helmet’s ability to absorb impact.
— Smith Helmets
Please note that heat can damage your helmet.
— Giro Helmets

Dry your gloves at room temperature.
— Hestra Gloves
Dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight or heat.
— Black Diamond Gloves
